My work is focused on exploring the natural world in all its beauty. I try to find the balance between land, sky and light, expressing my passion for all things “nature”.
The natural world offers a level of peace unobtainable within the hard geometric world we’ve created for ourselves and try to share these things with anyone willing to pause and look.
Born (1988) in Durban, South Africa, Evan was guided to art by his Mother at the age of 11 and was taught carpentry by his Father.
The influences and motivations from both his parents helped to shape his talent but it wasn’t until he had finished school that art would became one of the most important aspects of his life.
Evan set out to pursue his artistic career and would soon find himself renting studio space from Artist and Designer Elsie De Beer Weich. Elsie was a great influence on Evan and would help to mentor and motivate him in his artistic pursuits. It was there that he had his first exhibition and there that his passion for art would intensify. Armed with confidence and his desire to capture the natural world, he set out to build and hone his abilities and sharing his passions along the way.
